This excellent result rewards Aegean Sky for a long standing belief in meaningful relationships with guests and constant improvement based on face to face and online reviews.
It feels like ages since I last updated but I hope you will forgive me. Work has been a bit overwhelming lately.
End of the summer season is a busy time for us. Final policy and performance reports are prepared for our clients in the hospitality sector. Seasonal hotels need this reporting system in order to analyse and balance the season’s performance. It’s a great time for us as well as we get to show in one concise document our activities. From these reports we are able to sit down and discuss the next steps and preparation work that we will need to do with the hotel for the next year. And the next year starts now!
Here is a short video – in Greek – with Panos from Aegean Sky where he explains the value of being online.
We made this video as part of our “I want you… online” campaign. You will recall that the cheekily titled “I want you… online” encourages travellers to leave feedback to hotels regarding their digital needs using a little card we created.
Even though Greece boasts some lovely small and medium sized hotels, the vast majority is not online. Travellers cannot find them and they cannot book online.
Panos is a SoMaFusion client and he recognises the value of being online and understanding his guests’ needs. In this short video he explains that by creating a website, analysing booking trends and his guests feedback he has managed to turn things around.
Here is a little video we put together following our recent interview with the BBC correspondent, Malcolm Brabant about tourism and hospitality in Greece (read the relevant blog post).
We hope you’ll enjoy.
Since we’re on the subject, the Press Release on the BBC report (English and Greek) went out today.
We are delighted to announce the next step of our Greek campaign.
Even though Greece boasts some lovely small and medium sized hotels, the vast majority is not online. Travellers cannot find them and they cannot book online.
Good hoteliers want to move forward but in most cases they are not certain that their customers consider things like a good website and an online booking facility as neccessities.
In the normal SoMaFusion spirit of working together we are launching an action today cheekily titled “I want you… online”
Travellers are encouraged to leave feedback to hotels regarding their digital needs using a little card we created.
It is a great pleasure to announce the GREEK campaign. Targeted to Greek hoteliers with small and medium – sized hotels it has been a long time coming.
The centrepiece for the campaign is thehotelspro.gr website – a version of the SoMaFusion website in Greek and set up specifically with tourism professionals in mind.
Other actions include a targeted e-mail campaign (extremely targeted) and an outreach campaign (even though the details of the later are surprise). (more…)
Sometimes you have to explain what you do. In simple terms.
I certainly dislike lengthy presentations and documents and frequently wish that people would just get on with it.
When I started putting together this presentation about how we work with hotels I had a chat with my colleague Manolis about this idea I had to just put things in simple terms. However, there is always the challenge of the prospective client who knows what he/she wants and really wants a bit more detail. (more…)
The on line version of the newspaper article that presents Manolis and his famous hospitality in times of crisis.
Sometimes – especially in difficult times – it does your heart good to find positive news and especially to be in the privileged position of promoting them.
It was lovely therefore to talk with Achilleas Hekimoglou, a journalist for the Greek daily newspaper TO VIMA who read our white paper and saw real value in the story of Manolis from Golden Bay.
Following his research and discussions with us and our client he wrote a front page article in the newspaper which shows how Manolis of Golden Bay, following the advice of our white paperand operating as a hotelier in the true sense of the word rather than just another businessman has made a difference.

It’s brand new so please watch the carpets with that wine you are holding. Welcome to our new home.
The pictures are new, the texts have been dusted down and the blog is now incorporated. What more do you need?
Naturally a website like ours is never really done. There are some white papers we want to upload, there are the new presentations to consider, there is the matter of our specialisations and oh so much more. But hey – stick around to see more.
